What we are wanting to know (as always!) is CAN IT CLIMB HILLS? The manufacturer has 8 prototypes running around in Canada, but NONE are available for us to test. Reason why? Its not DOT certified yet according to EVTAmerica. Now, we understand that this can take time; however, we're wondering what's really holding up the show? Your guess is as good as mine. As soon as one becomes available, you'll be hearing more about the Z-20's performance. In the meanwhile, its still just a cool looking scooter :wink:

Re: FINALLY REALLY NEAT SCOOTER - 2005/08/05 17:59 That's an interesting question, because the answer varies depending upon who you ask! From what we understand, it can be a rather lengthy process. The standards to meet DOT certification are clearly defined, but they are very rigid...remember, this is your safety we're discussing, so cutting corners to speed up the process is not really what you want. On the other hand, I have it from a very reliable source that if you've done your homework and you know your product will meet the standards then it becomes a matter of being an expert at pushing the paperwork thru the proper channels... I don't know, that might be true, or it might be a bit of braggadocia :mrgreen: We're not waiting around any more ourselves and have a little surprise to announce next week about Alien Scooter's choice for a new, powerful Moped! Keep tuned in and keep on writing :wink:

We tested a 5HP version of the EVT 168 & 4000e and just can't get enough of them in the store. Everyone raves about how easy to handle & powerful these new scooters are. Hills are chewed up. Two riders, not a problem. For everyone who wanted a larger scooter...This is the ONE to get. You've got to come by & ride the demo to believe it, just so comfortable & fun! More specs later
