Heat question on Tidal Force bikes - 2005/09/01 16:34
I know you get occasional hot days up there in Austin. How does the battery handle the heat? I've read that sustained heat reduces the lifespan of batteries, but don't know if that applies primarily to SLA batteries or to NiMH as well. I also remember that NiCD batteries would drain rapidly in a hot car, but again, don't know about NiMH.
With sustained days at 90+ here in Houston, would I need to store the bike inside with the air conditioning?

But the heat doesn't pose any risk for the batteries except for discharge or length of service. If we were talking about Lithium Ion batteries, heat might be more scary.
