Tidal Force Bikes - 2005/02/07 23:39 Im interested in the Tidal Force Bikes but have several questions. If anyone has ridden one of Tidalforce bikes opinions would be greatly appreciited.
1) In essence is the M50x an m50 with more power and no governor. Is the maximum speed limited by anything other than my pedaling power?

2) How difficult would it be it transfer the system to another frame? Its silly, but I just cant get over how ugly that folding frame is. That and I think Id be happier with my own shifters, seat, etc.

3) How bulky is the charger? If I wanted to travel long distances would it be difficult to take with me?

Re: Tidal Force Bikes - 2005/02/17 12:59 The M750X allows the motor to operate at 1,000 watts. It is considerably faster than the M750, and your speed is only limited by your pedaling power.

As far as transferring the system to another frame, you shouldn't have a problem at all. I have heard several folks over at http://www.visforvoltage.com discussing this very thing. The wiring on the IO full-frame actually runs through the frame. I do not know how difficult this is to remove. On all other models, the wiring is external.

The chargers are not large at all. The actual dimensions are 7"x3.75"x2". They can easily be stowed in a pack or saddlebag.

TidalForce will be introducing a front wheel conversion kit sometime late this spring, so then you can make any bike into a mean quiet powerful electric bike just like the M-750. This will be a lot easier than moving the whole wiring harness, battery & motor units. Not sure yet if the battery will be integrated into the same wheel with the motor or mounted on an external rack.

The M-750X will accelerate as much as you can pedal; however, in turbo mode when you release the throttle, the bike regens as it slows down. All the TidalForce bikes are stealth; really smooth & quiet. I can sneak up to watch birds and not scare them off! :wink:
