Regarding Inspections for EVT - 2007/09/07 01:23
Hi, Sorry to hear about your frustration. :We just purchased an EVT 4000. I found the web site for the Texas Department of Transportation very helpful. http://www.dot.state.tx.us
You will find that our EVT's are classified as "Motorcycles" in the state of TX, because they go over 30 mph. Yes, you will need to have a "Safety Inspection" annually, however you will not need an "emmissions inspection:. You can find a helpful list of inspection stations under "other sources"/vehicle inspection found on the right side of the screen...look for the stations that do Motorcycle inspections and call the phone number listed for the station you want to go to to make sure they will do the "Safety Inspection" for you. The web site also lists the items that should be inspected ie: headlights, taillights, blinker etc... wishing you many happy and safe rides! kitti
